Music & Dance: Creativity, Confidence, and Performance

Music and Dance are vibrant, much-loved parts of the Camp Nabby experience, bringing creativity, movement, and self-expression to the heart of camp life. At the center of it all is our iconic Nabby stage, one of our most treasured places at camp. Over the years, it has welcomed visiting performers, hosted counselor shows and Junior Camp musicals, and continues to serve as a gathering place for daily morning assembly, a true hub of community and celebration.

Nabby’s music and dance program is thoughtfully designed to inspire a love of music and performance while giving children the freedom to explore and express themselves. Campers are encouraged to experiment with sound, rhythm, and instruments, discovering talents and interests they may not yet know they have. Through spirited dance and movement classes, children build coordination, confidence, and a joyful connection to movement and music.

Junior campers participate in 30-minute music and dance classes throughout the week, engaging in music games, singing, rhythm activities, and hands-on exploration of instruments in a fun, group-based setting. These classes emphasize participation, creativity, and comfort performing with peers.

Senior campers may choose Music & Dance as part of their interest-period program, allowing them to take greater ownership of their creative experience. Whether rehearsing choreography, practicing music, or preparing a performance, senior campers love the opportunity to showcase their talents on the famed Nabby stage and entertain the camp community.

Through music, movement, and performance, our Music & Dance program helps campers develop confidence, creativity, and self-expression, encouraging them to take risks, work collaboratively, and feel proud sharing their talents – lessons that extend far beyond the stage.
