Arts & Crafts: Creativity, Expression, and Pride in Making

Arts & Crafts is a beloved and thoughtfully designed part of the Camp Nabby experience, giving campers the opportunity to slow down, create, and express themselves through hands-on projects. Located in one of the most charming spaces at camp, our Arts & Crafts Center features two bright, welcoming rooms filled with a wide variety of creative materials from paints, yarn, and beads to wooden kits and building supplies encouraging imagination and exploration.

Each week, Junior campers create and build arts and crafts projects centered around a different theme, such as Superheroes, Pirates, Camp Memories, and Friendship. These themed projects invite creativity while also helping campers develop fine motor skills, problem-solving abilities, and confidence in their ideas. Every project is proudly brought home, becoming a keepsake that reflects each child’s creativity and summer experience.

Senior campers may choose Arts & Crafts as part of their interest-period program, allowing them to explore more detailed projects, experiment with materials, and work independently or collaboratively at their own pace. This choice-based structure gives older campers the freedom to deepen their creative interests while still enjoying the supportive camp environment.
One of our favorite Arts & Crafts traditions is Lanyard Fridays — a classic Nabby experience. Whether it’s a colorful key ring or bracelet, these handmade lanyards are a timeless reminder of summers spent creating, sharing, and feeling proud of what you’ve made.

Through creative exploration and hands-on making, Camp Nabby’s Arts & Crafts program helps campers build confidence, focus, and self-expression, offering a joyful balance to active days and reinforcing the satisfaction that comes from bringing an idea to life.
