Another educational #campchat yesterday. The topic this time around was inspired by the ACA’s media center, which notes that “over 50% of ACA-accredited camps offer ropes course activities or have other constructed adventure/challenge facilities.”

Over the last few years, we’ve dedicated an entire section of our camp to a challenge course. It started with a rock wall, we threw in some low ropes, and before you knew it we had a zip line. Below are a couple of shots from this past season.

The area is staffed by five dedicated specialists during the camp season and has been a huge hit with campers and parents. But our own experience, coupled with the statistics from the ACA, got us thinking: What are other camps up to? What are camp directors excited about? What activities are they thinking about including in their program?

We used yesterday’s twitter chat to ask these questions and stir the pot a bit. Overall the ideas we discussed are inspiring and awesome:
